Hello,

I need new nozzles for my 200TDi injectors but it's going to cost about £50+VAT per injector. I've read countless topics on here and other websites about people swapping nozzles from 300TDi injectors onto 200TDi injectors or simply fitting the entire 300TDi injector with an adapter and then swapping the injector pipes over but no one has reported back with how things work out. I can buy an whole new 300TDi injector for less than the cost of repairing one of my current injectors. I know that 300TDi injectors open at a higher pressure and that the nozzle tips are slightly different for the central combustion chamber on the piston head, as opposed to the 200TDi's slightly offset combustion chamber. A 300TDi injector will not fit straight onto my injector pipes, nor will the standard brackets hold them in place. BUT if I got some 300TDi injector pipes, will they mate with my injection pump? I thought the threads were the same on the injector and the pump.

Has anyone done any playing around here whether it be fitting 300 TDi injectors or swapping nozzles? I can't afford £230+ for my injectors reconditioning, I paid a tenner more for my engine!

I'm not buying a second hand one, it could be in worse condition than mine. I've got a set of 300TDi injectors which I'm looking at now, trying to figure them out.

Pos, you wasting your time trying to get 300 injectors to fit a 200 mate - if i was in your situation i'd buy a cheap second hand one

Having said that £20 is quite expensive, keep your eyes on some as some go lots cheap - I've never paid much more than £40 for a complete set.

give these peeps a ring, they might have a very cheap set of SH ones or be able to sort you out with a known good working one

Thanks Sean. I'm still interested to try and make 300TDi injectors fit, or at least use 300TDi nozzles because they're a hell of a lot cheaper and there's not much in them. On observation just now, the only difference between my 200TDi injectors, and the 300TDi injectors that I've got is the thread size on the injector pipes and some little notches that the 300 injectors have around the injector body. I'm sure I can make them work somehow whether it be using the nozzles or just replacing my injector pipes.

Surely it can be done?

I've just dismantled a bent 300TDi injector and found a nice mess of metal shavings inside. Anyway, I managed to remove the nozzle without any trouble, the only question I have is - is it that simple? I'm sure CharlesY will be able to lend me some advice here. If I were to order a set of new 200TDi injector nozzles over the tinterweb or from my local Bosch Centre, is it just as simple as removing the threaded cover, removing the old nozzles and then putting the new ones in place or am I missing something vital? Is it only the nozzles that most injector specialists replace or do they do other stuff too? I've found two metal discs (shims?) in there too which I assume are used to set the preload on the spring. If I removed the thinnest one, I expect the 'pop' pressure will be increased. If I know that I can do it myself, I will give it a try. Where are you CharlesY?
