****ing bias springs, help needed

Hi can anyone help, have owned my disco (300tdi) for 2 years and have just discovered the second set of bias springs on my gear box has failed, now sits between 1st and 2nd. both these sets of springs were purcahed from a main stealer (suprising they only cost about a £5) and repalced as a pair.

Does anyone know of a supplier where these can be purchased that might just last more than 12 months at a time as i dont know how many more times i can face doing this job

is there an upright plate between springs holding them in position they never wear out they do wear groove in stick which should be welded and ground smooth

Something is not right, as above says, they don't wear out or break!

Is the bias plate broken?

not sure without taking it apart but do remember i replaced the bias plate b4 will have to have a look to make sure plate is still ok, that was also from main dealer. oth probs now as well coolant flooding out from the expansion tank as soon as i start her (decided its a her as its becoming a real ......)
