I am looking for anyone's recommendations on an air impact gun.
Pref a reasonable quality cheapy off eBay.
I have a few jobs to do on the fender this year and can see one being usefully. I have a decent size compressor so that's no worry . But can't afford a snapon type price so any recommendations are welcome on budget priced ones

Hi i might have one at home in if you are interested i think it is a sealy but will have to have a look where about in sussex are you.

Got a sealey one which has been great. Not sure of model number but can find out if needed. Think my wife paid around £80ish - was a birthday pressie a few years back

Not air, and far from cheap, but best tool I've ever bought was Milwaukee Fuel Impact Gun -> 18-volt half inch fuel High Torque Impact Wrench w/ Friction Ring Kit | Milwaukee Tool

Saves naffing about with air lines and the batteries last an age.

Ive got one of them excellent bit of kit, but as op has a compressor I would go for cheap air gun as A its cheap, B its physically smaller and C you can treat it like utter crap as it only cost 20/30 quid!
I would avoid second hand air guns as they are most likely worn out regardless of make.

I must admit I hadn't thought of machine Mart and there is one just down the road from me in Brighton ..
I don't fancy A battery one as they are pricy . Plus wouldn't ever be charged when I needed it , will only be every now and then ill need one

its also vicious , i wouldnt like to be trying to hold a spanner against my cew1000.

its a cracking tool though , it will either break it out or break it off..... its either on or off , no softly softly so use with caution.

I was going to get one to use on the 3 nuts that secure the exhaust down pipe ,as I have a new stainless one to fit ,, what are the chances of them coming undone or is this likely to rip them clean off along with the stud.. Have tried a spanner with no sign of it budging ..I've been soaking it in wd40 for a week as well

Have you tried after a good run when the down pipe is hot - watch your hands obviously!

WD40 is not penetrating oil. I find a 50/50 mix of auto trans fluid and acetone works well but be sure to keep it away from plastics. Make sure it's well mixed.
