sorry to have to say but the Land Rover prototype was built on a Jeep chassis.

But it was found to be not up to the job and so us brits built a proper one:D
Partially true the Mod wanted there stuff Made in the UK so they didn't have to depend on the US for military hard ware/parts. But we Know both depend on each other:D

Nothing to do with the military, In the late 40s Maurice Wilkes had an ex WW11 jeep at his Welsh holiday home. He took the idea of a simple light weight 4x4 and developed the Landrover originally as a farm vehicle, its design, construction and the materials it was made of were dictated by the economics of the post war era.

Oooooooooo, what sort of string:confused::confused:, or will any old string do:confused::confused:, that will take up less space than those pesky straps taking up room in my motor:cool::cool::D:D
One more thing, is the sticky back plastic used instead of a recovery point:confused:, thats a bit more weight I can cut down on;););)

"for gods sake Grimmer" the sbp had nothin to do with the tow, that was used to hold my brain in place....yea!:D:D

I guess no one believes me still. :p

I heard today that after I left that night they got the Dodge stuck again and ended up ripping the front bumper off of it. Luls.
