Second fuel tank, second spare wheel and the roof rack, roof storage box, jerry can holder and high lift jack mount done.. Still got so much to do though

For those who need to know, return ferry from Santander to Portsmouth is now available to book online with Brittany Ferries.

You'll need the 20:30 sailing on the 9th November 2013.
Arrives in the UK at 19:45 on the 10th. :)

My reservation is now booked. :bounce:

If and when we do this laning trip before Morocco, I strongly suggest if any wading is involved that any wheel bearings be stripped down and re greased.
I've changed all the bearings and seals on mine 3 times in 2 years now due to water ingress/damage.
I for one am staying well away from deep water prior to this trip now. Far more hassle than it'll be worth.

Definitely :)

I will start to put a route together then. :)

Without ANY water will be difficult but in september we should be able to avoid lots of water.

We could move it from Wales to somewhere a bit... err... drier - Peaks is more rock than water and mud...?

Although - lanes need to be gentle - this is a shake down for overland vehicles - not a full on laning trip. Apart from it all being a bit local - a trip round Northants and Nuneaton would be perfect with the gentle lanes.

It is the 28 / 29 September weekend btw. (It has to be that weekend as that is what we said before and I'm booked up the rest of the time!)

I'm happy to go with whatever the rest of the group want :)

As said nothing too hardcore though as I will have a lot of weight on the roof, may have to chuck some sand bags in the back to give me a bit more weight low down

Tis upto you guys, im not even coming to Morocco.

Makes sense to do something near to everyone then. Ive been meaning to look further into gloucester and worcester???

But equally northants could be a goer, need to get those lanes in before they close for the wet season though.

When is close season Bump, do you know?

October I believe.

Gloucester or Worcester could be an option - be nice to go somewhere a bit different...

Btw... Mark has a spare seat for Morocco ;)

Just got back from morocco, 4 of us in a 90, only mechanical problem a corroded seal in clutch cylinder back street mechanic fixed it went off for an hour to get the part. No gangs no problems with thefts, and Moroccans are genuinely friendly people. Will get a report and some pics on here when recovered. 4300 miles in all as came back via millau viaduct. Any burning questions insurance fuel etc please feel free while fresh in memory. :)

You know general stuff, assurance frontiere where it is in tanger port, fuel 83 cents a litre and frequency anything of help to make smoother. No dodgy bellies got those in France, eyes of needles and all that :lalala:

So just the 3rd party insurance which is useless other than keeping the authorities happy then?

I want a proper fully comp. insurance policy for Morocco... but... sadly no one will even consider it :(
