Does anyone know if (like the Haynes manual says) you have to drill out two screws in some mounting / assembly to remove the ignition switch?

We will find out at the weekend Fashion, when we attempt this operation on our respective Hippo's :D

No need for a new thread BTW. Keeps things tidy.

Good luck.

That sounds like a reference to the shear bolts holding the steering lock to the column rather than removing the ignition switch from the lock.

I think you are right Chaser. I've had a look at Haynes and it seems that the lock body involves non-removable shear bolts that need drilling out. The switch has been removed before that stage. Should be alright then for a switch only service.

Many thanks,

Dave
