Disco '96 300tdi.
Bought several weeks ago with unusual fault. Regularly fails to stop the engine when ignition switched off. Vehicle runs on for about 30 secs, then dies. Sometimes if I open the drivers door it will stop as I gather this brings in immobiliser. Also quite often find that normal facia ignition lights, battery light, etc stay on after switching off.
Occasionally ignition lights come on when key turned but nothing to the starter.
Done all normal checks such as earths but nothing obvious. Have resorted to fitting a kill switch in the ignition switch line and this will kill engine.
I'm getting a bit stuck now and wondered if I have a sticking relay 'somewhere' ?
Also do wonder if there is some link with the alarm / immobiliser system.
