That sounds like the freakin 110 that I bought. Nowt wrong wi it 'e sez.
Been off the road for months now tryin te fix the freakin thing, only did 800 miles in it then it died. front diff, T/Box, prop shafts, rusty bulkhead, rusty outriggers, noisey gearbox, door inges, rotton seatboxes, etc etc..
Should have took a Landy expert with me instead of trustin the sweat talking pillock that assured me that I was buying a crackin landy.

Rant over:director:

I looked at this yesterday.

1997 LAND ROVER DISCOVERY 300 TDI BLUE on eBay, also, Land Rover Range Rover, Cars, Cars, Parts Vehicles (end time 17-Nov-08 14:36:02 GMT)

Looks great from outside, great chassis/drivetrain.
Inner wings rotted and will need welding for next MOT
Boot floor showing signs, as are rear arches.
Rust holes in bottom of A posts.
Rusty bottoms of B posts.
Appearances are deceptive, eh?
If anyone on 'ere is bidding or thinking of doing so, beware!!

I spoke on the phone to the guy selling this, he assured me it was a cracking nr mint car - the lying towrag !!!!

Thanks for the heads up!!

I'm still looking though :tea:

Anyone know of a TD5, any spec, yr2000, under 120,000mls, manual for under £2800?

:frusty:I noticed this & I'm half way thru a litre of voddy:D...By the way hello Stu...nice to see some newbies:hug:(not that I'm an oldie lol)

Well I've send the winning bidder the link to this page. wish someone had been to see my V8 and told the head-gasket had gone before I went out and paid good money for it. We live and learn.

You're not the only one, i've had to shell out for a new transfer box & gearbox, cost more than the bloody Disco (albeit gearbox was change now rather than later)

Went and viewed it in person with MuddyDisco4 last Saturday and walked swiftly away after about 5 mins.
It's got more rust than my Disco
The guy selling it is a professional valeter which explains the exterior appearance.
I asked him about rust on the phone and he gave me the answer of very, very little.
Now the door shuts and A/B posts were all very clean, so how could he not have noticed the rust and holes at the bottom of them?
He was also a zero rated eBayer, so I had to view before maybe putting in a bid, especially as it was only 30 miles away, bloody glad I did.
It sold today for £2100 - I pity the poor sod that bought it.

At least when the winning bidder turns up to collect his 'slightly corroded' disco and finds it's like a culinder he can give him the rods and a bollocking and report him to ebay for not describing the vehicle correctly.

I personally couldn't rip somebody off like that but some people have no shame.
