identifying parts on my landy...

hi everyone,

just a quick ask for some experts who might know the names and reasons for the existence of a few parts. i've attached the photos, the first is the rear door strut which is bent and makes a loud CRACK when the door is opened past 90 degrees from the body, is there a part number for this? i've looked around online but can't find one

second is the two electrical connectors coming from taped up bundles of wire on the back bumper. I noticed them a while ago and wondered what they did but never got round to finding out

any help would be much appreciated! thanks, will

Door part is called a check link or check strap

Original part was MXC5575 but superceded several times

Re: the connector - the wiring loom is multipurpose. Don't know what it might do on some models' but mine has that too!

ok thanks! maybe the rear connectors have something to do with the towing electrics? they apparently don't work, according to my Grandad

no its fuel tank harness same loom is used for petrol and diesels ,petrols have a fuel pump
