Hello all,
As a break from my usual grumblings at what fresh horror my beloved P38 has brought to my life, I thought I'd report some good news for a change.
I'm working over in Holland at the moment and am in my D4. The best, most comfortable kit lugger bar none. However, as I had a rare weekend off, I drove down to the Nurburgring and took him around for a laugh. Not only did it swallow up the 3.5 hour drive there in the pouring rain, but it also carved out a lap time of 13 mins 25 seconds. Not too bad I thought considering it was my one and only lap and it was in the wet. It was a bit slippy to say the least, as the drivers of the 2 BMWs and a Nissan 350z would probably tell you when they manage to extract their wrecks from the barriers.
You'll be pleased to know that I managed to overtake a shiny black Passat amd some sort of small hatchback thing as well as burn off a Vectra on the straight. Hard to say what the hatchback was due to body kits and also trying to stay on the track whilst avoiding various Porsche, BMWs and Subarus.
Anyway, I thought you'd like to know that I flew the Landy flag there today. I also confirmed that a D4 will do 114mph according to my GPS. Not too shabby for a couple of tons of top heavy 4x4.
