Done nowt much so far today. Waitrose delivered, so helped wifey put it away, big order like so many as xmas is being sorted. Hot Camembert coming up for lunch, yummy!
Sorted out the Humax box so it'll take catchup from all channels., Apparently wifey can't do this.
Flipping annoyed about a ceiling downlight in the recently been installed kitchen. Moved from previous location, i.e. had to cut a new circle, used the cutout to fill in the previous hole, extended the wire with a chocbloc, drilled through a floor joist to get the wire through, attached to new fitting. All done ages ago, but ever since the bulb flickers and eventually dies. Thort it was the bulbs but am now convinced it is in the wiring. Typically it is intermittent, but seems to start after a while as if the problem needs to warm up first.
Dreading having to cut out the original hole again to remake the connection. Not like me to make this sort of mistake so hoping it is the light fitting itself. (old fashioned non LED or halogen type, about 6 to 8 inches across takes big screw in bulbs.)
Still, door very nearly finished, one coat to go then hanging. Came with kind of clingfilm stuck on the glass panels which worked a treat when it came to keeping the varnish off the glass. Brill!
Have a good day folks!:):):):):)

Feeling a bit of a **** now.
I was cutting through the 3mm plywood that form the mini-shutters for the front windows on top of the breakfast bar.
I had a whole newspaper under the plywood sheet.:)
I still managed to go through everything and into the worktop underneath (even though the plywood had not separated at the cut-line)
Deep gouges on the work surface. Oops!
I scraped the tops of the gouges clear of the raised material and then gave it a light buffing with some 800 paper and then a coat of boot-polish and a buff with a cloth.
I did admit to it, as I knew she would spot it anyway. Now she's muttering curses that invoke the "New Onyx worksurface" beast. FFS! Its just a scratch. ;)
