So if I bought that one on ebay from your mate bill, I would also need to source a new LR oil cooler, pipes and oil? Plus find someone prepared to fit it. Is the actually removal and fitting of it a pain? How many garage hours?

yes its had a new box 5000 ago but it only takes a fragment of swarf and your new valve block fails, new cooler and pipes a must.another recon valve block was fitted and that was worse than the previous so another ordered from different supplier and being fitted as we speak so hopefully 3rd time lucky

bob will point/put you in the right direction, its like a production line there for l322 gearbox changes, 1 in 1 out nearly constant

Unfortunately I haven't been been able to get hold of Bill today, phone just keeps ringing. Anyone recommend any South West auto specialists? Help is much appreciated.

Gloucester Road Gearboxes in Bristol have a good reputation.
(They moved from Gloucester Road about 20 years ago)

How about Cornwall & Devon Transmissions, haven't they got a place in St Austell?

Thought as much, mind you that's normally only a quid a mile and it will only be one way so it's hardly going to make much difference to the overall cost.

Yer, your right there pal! Just need to get in sorted now. Toying with the idea of selling it as it is- and cutting my losses, I paid 7.5k 6 months ago, it would probably get 6k now, just a thought

That was a cheap price, I'd get the repairs done if you like the car if you only paid £7.5k, your not going to lose money either way

Thanks will, I will ring him tomorrow. I think I did get a good price on the car, anyone hazard a guess on what its worth with the Gearbox sorted? I suppose its a good selling point!
