I think it's dead...

I had my 1969 Series 2a Landrover booked in for its MOT this morning.

She hasn't been used for a year or so but I'd done a lot of work on her recently, getting it ready for the test.

She was running a bit rough and I hoped that was just where she hadn't been run for a while, but then just a couple of miles after leaving home there were several very loud backfires and the engine stopped.

I managed to pull in but she won't re-start. Everything turns over but she won't fire. Locked her up and walked home again in the rain.

I reckon this is the end for her, which is a shame as I've had a lot of fun in it.

yer looking fer advice or is yer just telling us yer landy's deed?

We're moving house in a couple of weeks and I just don't have the time to fix it now, so off to the scrappy unless someone wants to buy it to repair.

would love to but could only offer you (counting) £3.46 for it right now...

Probley just got **** in the fuel.
Its a shame you arnt down near me as it would probley be a quick and easy fix.

id tow yer tae south o edinburgh if yer could arrange a relay avoiding moterways tae get yer home

Yer take a bag of tools and fix the fooker & drive it back. & when it breaks down yer fone the nice AA Man and get him ta fetch it back for yer.

I'd prolly have a brain fart or find it non fixable, and even if it was fixable, I'd need an MOT whilst I was there. And I don't have breakdown cover

well ya never knows ?? if ya talk to im nice he might bring it down for ya fix the ****er tax it mot it tie it up in a big ****in ribbon and post the key through your letter box

well have talked to him nicely does anyone have a trailer to fit a series on? and fancy going up to jockland with me to bring it back for expenses / pies?
