:( well, my so called fantastic freelander is not very good at all!!

I bought this car after waiting 4 yrs to get a landy, with air con (dont work) electric window (1 dont work), electric sunroof (dont work) and an auto gear box (f***kd!!!)..

Im so sad right now i could cry!:( :( :( :( :(

A 3 month waranty to the value of £300?? so, may aswell dump it n burn it asap!!!

Any ideas on where i stand with crappy dealer?? i intend on takin it as far as i can and will seek legal advice if need be cos ive only had it 14 weeks!!! :(

u think? :( im gonna take it to garage sat n tell em i aint leaving till its sorted n tell em im takin it all the way, thought major components etc were covered?!
wont be buying another one from there thats for sure!!

make sure you write down all the faults so you can give them a list and so you have a written faults list to show to TS if it needs to go further. Dont forget to write that you do not feel that the motor is "of merchantable quality" and is not "fit for purpose".

the first 30 days anything that goes wrong must be replaced by the trader if it's a trade sale,
anything after that is up to you and the trader to come to some sort of agreement, i don't think by law they are responsible but contact citezens advice to be sure;) an when you've done that post back on here an let us know hw the land lie's

if i were you i'd get gallon of petrol an chuck it on the seats:rolleyes:

or use it on the traders office or cars;)

hope that helps or even cheers you up a bit

According to the Sale of Goods Act 1979, goods bought must be safe to use, fit for the function for which they are intended as well as fit the description that is given about them. Along with this, the goods must be satisfactory in terms of quality.

The dealer is in breach of contract because your car isn't of satisfactory quality (Section 14 of the Sale of Goods Act). This is assuming that the problem wasn't revealed when you took the car for a test drive before you bought it.

Provided a buyer of faulty goods acts quickly you're entitled to reject it and get a full refund. This option may still be available to you. The fact you give the seller a chance to repair the vehicle wouldn't affect this right.

Even if you've lost the right to reject and get a full refund, as a consumer you have additional rights. First and foremost, you're entitled to have the car repaired within a reasonable time and without significant inconvenience to you.

If, however, the delay in getting the repair work done persists, ask for a replacement car. If the garage hasn't got one then you'd be entitled to an appropriate price reduction or refund (taking into account wear and tear).

well, when i bought the car i 'was not ableto test drive due toit being at the back of the forecourt and boxed in' i started it up, and mate looked at engine as much as u can lifting the bonnet...
i did ring them within 2 weeks and told them there were issues but have not taking it back as im on my own and they talk to me like an idiot, so was waiting for estranged hubby to take it and he 200 mile away!
starting to wish i knew a few more criminals!! lol

so are you saying that you bought it without having had a test drive ?

My father-in-law has just bough an early petrol freelander. Has the ABS light on. I am waiting for it to go horribly wrong. Don't really want to say anything, feel a bit bad when he has only just bought it and seems to like it (although he is not keen on the painted black chequer plate on the wings, to his credit).
