:DWell lets face it Boys and Toys. I have a very good understanding of Physics, yet I still went at deep and not so deep water as if I had just nicked it. "wot a cock".
So the consequences are I now have both wings comming away from the body, by the doors. Other than removing and refitting, any advise please:confused:
I know what I am,lessons lernt.
Cheers

it is surprising how easy they can come off, you expect a Landy to be as solid as a tank, ive seen them rally discos and they dont take much of a knock to take em clean off. They are only held on by a few bolts. They are dead easy to take off, takes about 5/10 mins a side. Have they ripped the bolts out or bolt intact wings ripped loose? I suspect the latter. Any pics?

Ive had that.

The water rushes up the wings, and pulls the skins off the support section that is bolted to the pillar.

I repaired mine and it's been sweet since. Took the wing off, opened up the fold slightly, slotted the support panel back into the fold, hammered it back down tight, jobs a good'un :)

Hahahaha, not quite a textbook bow wave was it, does look like you had fun though lol!

"A vehicle in motion creates a bow wave at the front and the water inside the engine compartment will be at a lower level than outside the vehicle as long as the vehicle remains in motion. You can increase this affect by putting a barrier in front of the radiator opening. A small plastic tarp or a regular cold weather radiator muff can make a big difference in the water depth inside the engine bay during a deep water crossing.

Ideally you want a small bow wave when crossing deep water. When wading streams with solid bottoms you should be moving at around 3 MPH and be in a low enough gear so that your engine is in its torque power band. You want to go about twice that speed on a soft sand bottom or when you need to rely upon momentum to get you up a steep embankment or through a momentary deep spot in a fast current. Driving fast through a crossing throws a high wave that impresses the photographers but is likely to leave you dead in the water and in need of a tow. A word of caution at water crossing photo opts. People like to have their headlights on while throwing water as high as they can for the camera. Headlamp glass can get very hot and may crack if suddenly hit with a solid wall of cold water."

From this: off road travel Water crossings

Great photos and it really looked like fun. I can't wait to get all muddy in mine and then drive around for at least a week before washing it in a river lol

Guess what, Mine has not been anyware near the JetWash,(loads of people look) better do it soon coz I got to sort the wings.:D:D:D:D:D:D
