I need new brake pistons and pads for my Defender 110, 2006

Hi,

I recently bought a Defender 110, tdi, year 2006 and it needs new brake pads and pistons. I wondered if anyone can recommend the best ones to buy? I live outside of the UK so I will need to buy them through a company that can ship internationally.
My current pistons do not have any protection and hence are all rusty on the area that gets exposed, are there any pistons on the market that get around this problem? I saw some brakes called mud shield and wondered what these are.....

You can get, or at least you used to be able to get, stainless steel pistons.

Most parts suppliers will ship internationally

I put stainless ones in my brakes about three years ago. The set of seals that came in the kit were a bit ropey looking so if you do this you might be better off ordering some genuine/original equipment seals to go in. The pistons are starting to show as the pads wear down, but they remain nice and shiny. Stainless ones seem like a good idea to me.
