I have put petrol into a diesel disco

just got my new off road toy today, a 200 TDI went to petrol station and put £10 of petrol in:doh: NOT diesel, it was on the red (as in no fule) so thats about all thats in it. iv not started it just pushed it off the forcourt and left it till i get more advice

what should i do ? ? ?

get the tank drained ? ? ? or

been told fill it up with diesal and it should be ok cos it was only a £10er? ? ?

I've heard that it should be ok if you brim it with diesel.

I personally would siphon the fuel out of the tank, but i don't like to take chances that may be expensive.

Fill it with doozil - it'll be fine.

He's right - no problem.

Yup fill it up it'll be fine. If it makes ya feel better when you've used a bit keep topping it up with diesel.

Fill t with diesel it'll be fine, it was only 2 gall of petrol, if you still worried put 5ltrs of engine oil in as well, these engines are tough :doh:

not a problem only that ammount... it even helps to clean the injectors!

Just 1 question,,,,,,,,,if you've bought a 200 tdi, why is you're user name 300tdi?????

Im now on my 2nd this month :doh: my 300tdi needs new engine cos it over heated on the way back from parkwood, it was gona cost more to sort it out than it was worth, £900 down the **** pot all cos i didnt jet wash off rad, it was full of mud. didnt see temp go up ran it till it stoped it self. m62 only ended up putin petrol in this cos of me shogun.

how badly did it overheat.. are you sure it needs a new engine..

in terms of petrol in a derv I knoe lots of people who do it deliberately.. usually to thin their WVO

Put petrol in a Diesel Mitsubusi Pajero once, that time I had to drain it out as it was half a tank full! but it cleaned the injectors wonderfully.......

it was common to put petrol in diesel in winter to stop it frezing not needed now because of winter diesel (still do it in tractors with red diesel some times)
