ever since i got my disco the steering has always pulled a little to the left.. been driving me round the bend.... literally!!!

had tracking checked
new drag link
swopped front wheels over
re-aligned steering arm
took steerin wheel off and repositioned it..

all to no avail......

checked rear axle alignment and was slightly out... only by bout 4 mil..

finally found arb link ball joint had failed and the arb was jammed against axle pushing it forward on the nearside...
got new ball joint and fitted tonight... old one totally snafu... see pics...

all better now...

there are two bushes attached to the chassis under the boot floor.. a "U" shaped bar passes through both of these and then to the back of the rear axle.. the arb link is attached between the ends of the "U" shaped roll bar and the axle...

mine had come apart completely.. but get a pry bar or long screwdriver in there and try wiggle the link to look for any movement.... should only be a small amount of movement in the lower bush and none in the ball joint...

sometimes if you've been playing in some axle twisters your ARB joints can capsize and cause this same effect, it's a bitch to get em round the right way again!
