I'm buying an 2003 range rover hse this weekend and it has the standard radio (no tv) just wondering if anybody knows a way of getting an aux port for my iPhone, on my previous BMW I bought a lead that you just added to the connector block at the back of the headunit, anything similar for the rangerover? I know you can get an Intravee but a simple aux in is enough for me, cheers in advance

is it possible to upgrade to a headunit out of a newer range rover, i know of the intravee but i dont want to lose the cd changer

You can easily wire a 3.5mm aux jack into the wiring to the cd changer for about £4 !

I done it on mine at first ! Saved paying out on an expensive iPod kit.

Has your HSE got the non satnav stereo, ie MID ?

If it has the MID then you can easily fit the aftermarket 7 inch touchscreen system.

Which I have now done, and its the bollocks :p

Satnav, aux in, USB, SD card, DVD, iPod, CD, Radio, TV
And it connects the cd changer so you can use your 6 disk changer as before.

Hope this helps

Pics??

I was actully planning to make up some kits and sell them. As it seem no one currently offers a low cost aux in solution.

:p

But for my touch screen pics I have allready posted a few on a recent thread on here regarding the aftermarket upgrade someone done to their vogue

Thanks very much for the reply, mine just has the Standard CD player in the dash so it looks like the first option you mentioned would be best for me, is there any how 2's for making what you mentioned? Really want to be able to play music from my phone but don't want to spend a fortune in this just yet with Christmas round the corner :)

Just seen the link hippo, the one I'm buying has the headunit you originally had in, iv been looking at them aftermarket all in one units you now have on eBay and they range from £300-£500 which seems a bargain and that's the route I'm going down after Christmas, they are pretty much identical to the units loads of people have done over on e46zone, have you got a link to the one you bought And what's your opinion on it, for now though I just need to figure out how to tap into the changer for an aux in :)

Hi,

this is the unit I have fitted... 7" HD Car DVD Player GPS TV IPOD for RANGE ROVER 02-04 | eBay

it was £515 when i got it two years ago.

very good unit, does everything i want it to do. sounds good too.

im planning to soon utilize the reversing camera input and fit a reversing camera to mine. :p

its specifically made for the L322. so plug and play connections, no wire tapping. and it fits lovely into the dash. so it doesn't look aftermarket.

and most of all, it works with my 11 speaker premium amp'ed system as well as the standard HSE 6 speaker setup

it also has a subwoofer output which i have used. i fitted a genuine sub woofer that the Harmon harden systems would usually have. but fitted my own speakers into the enclosure and wired my own amp.

got to say it sounds pretty good now. :)

Just picked the car up today, havn't had a good look round yet but according to the owners manual the cd changer is in the glove box, just wondering how to put an aux in like you mentioned, also if I do this will I still be able to use the single slot on the dash for cd's? Thanks again

Hi Guys, I know this is an old thread, but I thought I'd post for anyone else that comes along (like I did) ... for anyone wanting to upgrade their BMW era (2002 - 2004 I think), this is the best solution (in my opinion), english company, really knowledgeable and helpful ... also a really good bit of kit when compared to dynavin and the other cheap ebay systems .... Andrive Android BMW OEM

If that fits the L322, it would be worth a look when the stuff in the rear quarter drowns:)

Glad ive found this

You could be the answer to my AUX problem.. Please let this be the case :-D

Right I have a 2003 RR HSE TD6 AUTO with 6 CD changer.. could you please tell me how you managed to feed the AUX into your car using the CD changer without losing the functionality of the cd player.

Wanna have a play with it as soon as possible

This will help me big time!

Cheers buddy :)
