I brought this the other day all I can say is the RAC guy that came out was absolute crap it was the rotor-arm that was fooked. I have the report and it says it was the cat and lambda sensor causing it to under fuel resulting in it been unsafe to drive. I turned it over and it wasn't firing but flooding think he should of spotted that hey.

Thats because most of them wouldnt know a rotor arm if it hit them in the face.lol

Glad your sorted.

In his defence unless a decent spark tester is used to check the spark it will show a spark as being there. Tigger had the same problem with his V8. He used 4 spark testers that were all showing as being fine. When I checked it to see how far the spark would jump it was VERY VERY weak. It was only when we stuck the HT lead on top of his rotor arm and got a spark that we realised what the problem was.

Most people use the light up spark testers. They are crap. If you ever see the ones with a windy knob on the back so you can open and close the gap then buy it. It's probably one of the most useful bits of kit in my arsenal.

wholeheartely agree...

although the spark only proves the rotor arm is earthing it doesn't prove why.. although in my case a good look under the 'dust' cap gave the game away.. good old plains mud eh :D
