How to Oil carburettors on my 3.5 twin V8

Hi ya I am just coming to the end of my rebuild and I haven't had a V8 before. I have been told I need to use 3 in 1 oil but not sure how much to put in also do I remove the black cape on the carbs to put the oil in any help would be appreciated

engine oil and yes.

diff oil viscosities alter characteristics.

undo cap remove damper and fill to top of piston. look down hole - yu will see piston.

Nope, you will see the piston damper.

nope - the damper is the bit yu remove, because it damps the movement of the piston. yu see the hole at the top of the piston, that the damper slides into.

If you put too much in it will come out of the hole in the black cap when you rev the engine and self level so don't worry

If carbs worn use engine oil if not use the 3 in one or similar, wont make a huge difference.
