How not to do it...

So there I was, lying on my back underneath my old Series III. Old sump oil draining into tray next to me. Reach up with a ratchet to remove oil filter. Have done this a hundred times before, so know where to position myself to avoid oil from filter. Forgot. As I removed the filter I was therefore hit square between the eyes by a gush of old engine oil. Jerk away from it, dropping ratchet into tray, splashing more oil into my hair and simultaneously hit tray with shoulder, upending the entire contents all over the driveway and clothing. Then admonished by wife for use of very foul language and ruined clothes. FML.:doh:

Nice one mate. Sounds like the type of daft thing I'd do!!!

The oil usually runs down the inside of my sleeve.....

If that had been me one of the dogs would have run through the spilt oil, chased by the others, and then maybe the kids - straight into the house.................................
