How much would it cost??

I've got a week off next week and I'm planning on doing some work on me 110 ready for it's MOT and some general maintenance. It occurred to me that if I had to take it to a garage and pay to have it all done I'd need a bloody mortgage. How much do you reckon it'd cost to get this lot done? Just labour.

Welding: patch one bulkhead outrigger, repair both footwells, replace both rear outriggers, patch chassis rail near fuel tank(tank will have to come out), 2x patch on rear crossmember.
Fit new seals to front brake calipers.
Rebuild swivel housings, bearings, seals etc.
Fit new steering damper.
Replace propshaft u/j's.
Replace rear a-frame ball joint.
General service inc all oils, belts etc.
Fix dicky earth to rear lamp.
Plus anything else I might find as I go through the above.

Go on, have a stab at a price to do that lot so I can feel good when I've done it meself and saved a few bob

It cost me £250 for a bit of welding at the back of my chassis rail (spring had to come out), a new rear shock absorber mount and a new steering joint at the bottom of the drop arm. So I'd expect quite a lot!

not sure how long all thatll take but reacon itll cost yer at least £29 per hour plus vat fer labour and some places are treble that

be cheaper to buy anuffer landy. you'd be looking at somewhere round the £1k mark for a small garage at least £2k at a stealers possibly more.

9hrs welding and about 7-8hrs for the other stuff. whatever that costs up your way. about £1250 down here!

Aye I was thinkin about a grand, plus a couple of hundred for the bits. Mind you that's from paddocks they'd be twice the price from a garage or about 4 times from a LR dealer. Shocking innit.

Forgot about paint andor waxoyl etc plus 100 odd quid for all the oils. Bound to find more once I get started too.

Feck, just remembered I need a new windscreen too. Had a search going on egay for a few months but nothing's come up local enough. Anyone had one fitted by a windscreen place? How much was it?
And me rear wheel bearings need adjusting or possibly replacing. If I crashed it the insurance would probably write it off if the bill ended up as big as this

If yer an octopus you should have enough arms an legs ter pay fer it. Windows is a peice of **** to do thissen.

Yeah cheers busterbus that's a good un. I've actually done a similar job on some side windows in a van I use dto have it's not too hard. Wonder if I can get the glass cheap from paddocks or somewhere?

Just had a good poke around underneath and discovered that all me suspension bushes are a bit knackered too Dun't look like I'll get it all done this week now
