mine is a bit moth-eaten and the body has dropped :(.

how much to have the X-member replaced with a YRM version? I dont have the room, or time to do it myself, but dont mind helping..

Its either that - or a new motor.

Its a big job. There are some articles online for RRC same job plus Zen did a thread on his red RRC where he did that I think. Hard bit is getting the fit right but removing old involves lots of spot weld drilling too. A garage would charge you lots for this job I suspect. Local farmers may be cheaper if you can find one who does welding jobs? If its dropped and the body is sagging, id cut my losses and find another tidy 300tdi thats been sorted, whilst they are still cheap. Let someone else do the hard work!

Think I'm going to be changing the xmember on my 'other' 200D1 as the rear door scrapes against the bumper cover, from what I've read it's not that hard as such just a lot of dismantling before you can assess the work involved o_O
I'm wondering if it can be done without removing the rear wings but from what I've seen they have to come off & that means a strip of the rear door / interior / window (s?? If 3 door like mine??) But then all other tin worm can be cut out so no worries for a long time

I think :p

Rich.
