im gonna be doing a full oil change on my 200 tdi soon so can anyone tell me how much of each would i need ? im gonna change the engine oil , gearbox oil , transfer box oil , both diffs and the swivel joints so wot grade/ type do i need thanks

Loads of oil!! Its about 7 litres for the engine you'll have to check the haynes manual for the rest but it is a lot.
For the main and transfer gearbox refills you will need some sort of pump device as the refill holes are in extremely awkward places.
Just incase you didn't know:
The 200tdi sump plug is imperial, (1"1/8)
The main gearbox takes ATF and the transfer box takes gear oil
You must get the haynes manual

Good luck

Why do people come on here asking very basic stuff and expecting someone else to go to the trouble of finding the info for them. I've got all the information you need but I'd need to have a look in the manual for it. That would be the manual that I had to go out and buy. Fookin fed up of lazy tight arsed fookers freeloadin tw&ts.

Ish

200tdi engine 6.9lt SAE 5w/30 to 10w/40
300tdi engine 6.7lt SAE 5w/30 to 10w/40
2.7lt manual gear box (ATF You will need a torx 55 for R380 gearbox filler plug)
9.8lt auto gear box ATF
2.3 to 2.8lt transfer box (depends on which one you have fitted. Buy 2.8 to be sure) EP90 GEAR OIL
1.7lt for each diff (2 Diffs) EP90 GEAR OIL
Dont bother with gear oil for the swivels. Just drain what little gear oil is left in em and use one shot grease that comes in a pre measured bottle for a few quid each side from some where like Paddocks. STC3435 Swivel housing one shot grease - front axle to JA032850

Transfer box filler plug is the one next to the transmition brake drum NOT the one higher up on the casing!!

Look at this link DIFFLOCK - 5 speed box Oil change

Whats wrong with people asking for fluid capacitys?? If there servicing it on there own driveway then they are on a budget so why not ask rather than spending more money on manuels like Haynes which are crap anyway? Dont seem fair to call em a tw*t cos of that. Just my thoughts on it

Didn't think of that...DOH! Anyway I thought that dog owners are suposed to look like their pet... That black Labs got a bit of a grin... go on... admit it.... you walk round with a big cheesy grin and just pretend to be miserable

Dont go by the quantities above when refilling, use them as a guide as there will aways be some small amount of oil remaining. Go by the dip stick level or the level plug.

For auto's 9.80Lts is far to much to refil the box as there will be nearly half the fluid left in the torque converter which u are unable to drain so refill with the amount you have removed and check the level with the dip stick.

people come on here asking things that are only very basic if they know the answer in the first place hence they need to ask so they know ! i thought the idea of a public forum was for people to share their knowledge not slag people of for not knowing  . you say you couldnt be bothered to take the time to look in a manual but yet you found enough time to come on here to slag me off  . and for your information i do own a ( highly inaccurate ) haynes manual and after problems with previous cars ( due to wrong info in the haynes manual ) i dont fully trust them so i thought its best to ask owners who have experience but instead i get some **** trying to be clever
by the way many thanks to disco inferno , ryanp and discool who could be bothered to take the time out to help a fellow landie owner who just wants to know how to keep it in tiptop condition :D

i also came on here to search for oil quantities after readin the manual..
wasnt willing to trust the manual's figures of + - 6.9lt of engine oil for the 4cyl and 5.somethin for the V8..
i thought the v8 would take more oil..

anyhoo.. i will check the dipstick after 6lt has been poured in and engine started 1nce.(200tdi)
