Whats the furthest anybody has travelled in a Series Landy??????
Just bought a 67 Series IIA and planning to travel to Timbuktu! Is this do-able????

its not to bad a trip from Douentza. be forewarned, tho - French is the official language, although many of the inhabitants speak only their native tribal language

i'm leaving from near london. And planning to either get a ferry to the south of France or the north of Spain. and we have left ourselves a Month to the whole trip

Of course it's possible. I met a couple of Kiwis 2 years ago at Beltring in a Series 1 that they'd driven over from NZ. They were then off to Scotland for a quick visit ;)

(Steps back and waits for the quips about underwater driving and birds driving LRs :p)

i load the everything/kichen sink into mine when i go further than burnley.

thats why you need a sankey trailer!
to carry all the spare parts you will need!

ps, take a radio. itll help pass the time whilst you wait for the AA man.

A winch? Ain't a little thing, will weigh down yer front end something chronic, require major messing with your batteries/charging system, you'll probably never need it, if you do it may not work & you might be better off with a hand winch for emergencies or even just use a hi lift jack if it really became neccesary. Have a practice with a high lift, amazing what you can do with them with a bit of imagination.

Just me two pennorth!
