Hi guys,

Bit about me, I have and drive a old 69 Midget so know how 'old stuff' doesn't drive like 'new stuff' but have been on the look out for a nice 'unmessed with' Series 2/2a or 3 for a while now, Last drove a series III about 30 years ago and remembered it was actually OK to drive.

I have been out in a couple of 2a's recent one a very low mileage tidyish example and another not so tidy but apparently well maintained.

They both drove like..... I really dont have words to describe!! pretty poor to say the least, is that how they are ?? has my memory failed me and they always drove like that??

Would I be better looking out for a later model ? Series III or 90?? would they drive any better?

Thanks in advance for any constructive advice :)

This week I've driven a customers series 3 109 v8 and it was awesome, granted te gears were hard to find and it was crafty but god did it put a smile on my face and today I drove my mates 200tdi series 3 that was nice too :)

My wife's Ka feels like a Rolls Royce after driving my 110. Wouldn't have it any other way

My old series 3 was a right laugh to drive. Had to give the passenger the gear stick for 1st, it wandered all over the road and after getting water above the hubs the brakes didn't work. It was the best landy I've ever owned and do miss it.

Things have changed a bit over the last 30 years. Chances are, you have become accustomed to modern standards of automotive technology.

Perhaps ditch ideas of the Series III and get yourself a 3 Series rep mobile instead. This should suit your needs perfectly.

well my series 2 ran awesome and a reet good bouncy old ride but a little on the slow side compared to these modern rice burners

but as of 4pm yesterday i dare say it doesnt need a speedometer anymore ......it needs a bloody calendar .................waiting to collect funds for new cam followers

My series 3 sounds surprisingly good going by the rest of this thread! Gears are harder to get into than modern cars but I have no problem reaching the gearstick and I'm not a lanky bugger..
Steering feels pretty heavy when going slow in a car park but it's not ridiculous. Above 15mph it's no problem.
