If I got a snorkel how capable would it be in high water and such ?

I don't want to modify it AT ALL! The snorkel is as far as I go. I hate even the slightest of modifications!

I think you need to specify clearly what you expect your RR to do and in what conditions, then you'll get some decent advice....

everything with an airway needs to breathe-above the drink depth your planning on ever driving.
its a leading question-whats under the water? gravel? tarmac? 6" mud? You could be in water up to ya knees before worrying about the top of a snorkel

Its a V8. It will cut out as soon as it smells water :D so forget the snorkel, you would be better off waterproofing the electrics under the bonnet 1st.

I would suggest going out with others and finding the limit. when you have found it they can tow you out and you will slowely learn what you, your kit and your vehicle are capable of.

As said, a snorkel is probably quite low down on necessary mods for a V8 green-laner. Your post is also a little ambiguous, a snorkel is a pretty major mod from the point of view of visibility ...

Reasonable mods that are less well noticed unless you're into laning and landrovers might be larger diameter tyres, offset wheels, removal of superfluous carpets/water traps, diff/steering guards, removal of stone guards from discs, petrol/diesel tank guards, addition of Jate rings, better/softer/longer dampers/springs .. so many things you can do to make green-laning less demanding on the vehicle, or the vehicle more resilient to knocks and scrapes without them necessarily being too overtly 'off-road' ... ;)

I went laning in me classic with at first no mods except recovery points.

Well yeah, I did in my Disco, I guess we all do, but if he wants to get into TOUGH laning then some mods are pretty much necessary, especially if that tough laning involves water ... ;)

Is TOUGH laning the type when you need lots of high vis clothing and camo trousers tucked into your army surplus boots?

Opinions may vary :D
