how can i tell

how do i tell if me water pumps fooked?

4.2rr v8 classic

on startup theres a loud squealing noise similar to a slipping belt this can dissappear and re appear alot

once it reaches its runnin temp and then upwards even with the twin kenlowes on i cant get the temp down

exspansion bottle is at the correct level,the rads full,the pipes arnt pressureised

its only just suddenly started doing this so i was guessing water pump but is there a way to tell?

First thing does your heating work? next check the degas pipe that goes to the expansion bottle this should flow coolant if it's not then chances are it's either blocked or your pump ain't working

cheers ..the heaters still toasty warm
m exspansion bottle is an allisport tank which if i remember has 2 pipes going into the bottom i will take a pic when it stops raining
