Is it possible??

I have an 1983 110 V8 which only gets warm when I fart a lot. Can I make the heater hotter or do I just have to eat more beans??

Ta

assuming the pipes in your heater matrix gets hot, try ensuring it's opening properly, there's a wire on top on the box (well there is on mine), also I think they have a bleed nipple thingy somewhere, and ensure the heater switches work correctly, sometimes they stick. other then that, must be a blockage.

You can flush the matrix with a garden hose, helps if you put kettle de-scaler in first and take a run to get the system warm..but those heaters are notorious for being crap...some people are lucky, some arent...mines crap no matter what i try.

dependers with V8s will get very toasty very quickly as there's plenty of heat generated within the engine, unlike the tractor engined versions - if it doesn't check the linkage and flush the matrix

Mmm, took it out today and I could have sworn I felt a gentle warmth around the ankles.

Thanks for the advice, I'll try and backflush it, maybe it will help.

I've heard that a different thermostat might help, anyone know about this?

A different thermostat will simply adjust the operating temperature of your engine, which should (in theory) also increase the temperature of the air entering your cab. The 200TDI has a couple of variants such as 83 and 88 degrees that I know of but I don't know whether or not they're the same ratings for the V8. I have an 88 in my engine and the cab gets very warm. I'd be tempted to stick with the lowest temperature thermostat available for the V8. The last thing you want it to do is cook its self for the sake of you being 5 degree warmer. Flushing it back and forth with a hose pipe a few times should clean out a whole load of rusty ****e. Also check that the passages in the thermostat housing are clear.
