Could somebody please help. I am at the point of pulling what's left of my hair out.

I have got a Freelander td4 on a 2001 plate. For some reason the horn doesn't work. I have checked all connections and the wiring. I am getting 12v at every connection when the horn buttons are pressed. After reading other posts I replaced the Rotary Coupler which didn't rectify the problem.

I have found that when the horn is disconnected and the horn button (s) are pressed I get 12v to the connector at the horn. When the horn is reconnected it doesn't work. I have connected a terminal from the battery to the horn and the horn works.

I have tried a replacement horn. I still get the same outcome.

Please, please. Has anybody got any idea of what could be causing this problem?

Short to earth when coupler is in place ?
Chaffed wire maybe. Have you tested via alarm door open etc.?
