Hi guys,
I have just Picked up a 1990 Land rover defender pick up. I was just going through everything when I got home and I realised the horn wasn't working, I didn't really do much to find out what was wrong with it because I will do it tomorrow, but I did notice that the horn on the truck only has one connecter point to clip on the wire, but doesn't it have another connecter on it for ground?

Also another thing... I have a window washer pipe running up into the pillar and then just stops in the cab. I found this out by constantly pressing the button with nothing happening and then getting drenched :) but why does it have this tube and button for rear wiper jet even though it is a pick up??

Sorry about the questions,
I'm new to the Landy stuff :)
Thanks

Mine was born a pick up and had the rear wash/wipe switch... I'd just cut it and seal the end of the pipe in the engine bay.
horn's tend to seize if not used regularly so will probably need replacing and yes, they use a negative earth so the cable going into it is the positive

If the thread/nut that fasten the horn to the body is rusted, then that could cause the problem of it not earthing, but horns are cheap to replace if it is broken

The horn works, and I've tested the fuse, I'm not getting anything. How do I get to see the connector on the stalk? I tried giving the end a pull but Im not sure, any help would be great.
Btw it passed mot anyway, but it's bugging me :p

Try taking the steering column plastic surround off, I think that exposes the stalk, also, make sure that you remember where the bolts on the surround go, makes it a lot easier when you put it back on :)
