hill descent

hi all,
ive just got a freelander and want to know how and when to use the hill descent button?

when you are going down a steep/muddy/gravelly hill or driveway.
press the hdc button on the gearstick, first gear and feet off the pedals. the abs will take you down at 5mph (i think its 5) same happens in reverse when you make a cock up of a hill climb to allow you control getting back down backwards. go find a quiet hill or a steep long driveway and give it a go, better off finding out if its busted now rather than when you are relying on it

when desending hills maybe?

or when going over speed humps after ya been to the hairdressers and shopping at tescos..and then dropped kids off at school

Shame they don't come with a manual to explain what the buttons do.
