Just to say hi to everyone and introduce myself. my name is Mark, I have recently bought a 96 V8i 3.9 Disc Auto and love it. Drinks a fair bit of petrol but not as bad as I expected. Owned a freelander 2.0 diesel previous which was fine but not as much fun as the Disco.
Had a problem with engine shutting down as when it felt then just packed up all together, spent £175 to some mobile mechanic who ripped me off and got it working then it stopped again, this time nice man from RAC put a loop wire between the battery and coil, BINGO worked a dream, (had to disconnect everytime I stopped and connect to go) I have bypassed this problem by extending the wire to dash and fitting a flick switch which acts as an immobiliser, JOB DONE...
Working my way aroung the controls and found the cruise control does'nt work anyone have any ideas.
