The disco facelift 2003-2004 models I've a friend looking for one and was curious as to general opinion, things to look for I'm not really familiar with the model so would massively appreciate your savvy advice :D

Water in electrics, oil in electrics, rotten chassis and seat belt anchors

Leaky sunroofs can leak into the fuse box. Big expensive headache. So make sure all lights work and are bright.

Rear Air bags on the 7 seat versions at £70 (Ebay price) to nearly £220 each to replace, it's an expensive one.

Or use it as a bargaining tool and replace afterwards with a proper boing boing kit.

The dreaded 3 Amigos. easily resolved with an ECU reset, but can soon reappear and is an MOT failure.
Could be just an ABS sensor on the hub or the complete ABS unit which retails at about £1200 to replace.

Discovery 2 is a lovely vehicle but wow the prices of replacement parts is eye watering.

Wheel bearing replacement on a D1 is about £20 where as a D2 is about £180

Oooooh and there is sooooo much more. Or buy a Defender 110 TD5.
