Any ideas on this one, folks? My Rangie's aircon, which recently had blends replaced, HEVAC replaced and a regas is working well, BUT it has started popping up the wretched Open Book after about 20-30 minutes or so of driving. I've stopped and checked all the manual controls on a few occasions when this has happened, and cycled through the controls and speeds and temp. It is consistently a temp blend fault on the passenger side which blows cold (thank heavens) whatever temp you raise it to. Could this be yet another faulty HEVAC? I'm thinking its not the heater blend motor itself as the open book doesn't come on right away, takes anything from 30 min to an hour or so before it does. The blends are still under warranty, perhaps I should buy a brand new HEVAC instead of a used unit pulled from a RR scrapped for other reasons......but they cost a mint!! The fault clears when you switch off and start up again, but it returns after another 30 min or so......

Did you have the blend motors calibrated by test book, rovacom or autologic after they were fitted.
A check on the HEVAC with diagnostics will show if one ore more of the motors is stalling..even for a short time..which could indicate a sticking blend flap. If the motors were not calibrated, you should get them done at the same time.

Thanks Irish, will Faultmate do the job as well? I have been hovering on buying one for a while....something expensive always seems to use the money I've set aside for it though:(generally a Range Rover repair of some sort!! Jason the indy who did the blends is getting a Rovacom kit shortly, so perhaps I can wait till then, but as a matter of interest is there anyone you can recommend with the set up in the Midlands? Won't go to a stealer as they will, well, steal and bodge, and most of them know nowt about a P38 anymore anyhow......

Faultmate/Rovacom use the same software. Faultmate is the latest hardware, they are both made by Blackbox Solutions.

A very good independant in Birmingham is Jameson 4 X 4 in Summer Lane. They have Test Book and know P38's inside out.
Alternatively, I am looking at going over to the U.K. around mid September and will be staying in Walsall for a few days before & after going away on holiday for a couple of weeks. If you are interested send me a PM.
