Herts Laners heading to Norf Wales laning trip April 29th weekend

Hello all this is my second post so please excuse.
I was wondering if you would mind if we (my wife and I) join you on one of the days you have planned up in Wales.
We plan to leave on Thursday after work and trundle on up sleeping in the back of the truck and then exploring some of the lanes on Friday working our way down South over the long weekend.
I am running a GPS so happy to meet you at any of your co-ord or if you like drop me the routes and I can meet you there.
ONE thing to add is that I drive a landcruiser and not a landrover so hope this is not going to be a problem.....oh and I am South African
Anyway if you happy for me to tag along and don’t plan on doing anything to crazy then let me know as i will be in the area.

Don't mean to be racist against Toyota's, but a toyota won't make it. We go to Wales because it's tough, and there is a very good chance you would break your toyota, or at the very least scratch all the paint off.

Also I wouldn't want my wife anywhere near me or any of these other guys

Look out for a new newbies run and cut your teeth on that first, your vehicle will probably need some modifications/recovery points etc.

Maybe you should find out what Land Cruiser he is driving and what mods it has before commenting.

Looking at Mem map, Corwen looks like a very good base.

So are you going to do Friday and Sat nights ? When you driving up ?

I think the plan was to head over at somepoint wednesday. But i think most of us are having repair issues befor we go....

Hokay, just been on multimap, 5 hours to Corwen (in a car) so six hours in my beasty, maybe not the smartest idea in the world to go up for one night Think I'll go back to plan A and see you guys at the Pub Meet a week wed

Well I would have hoped for a better response for Warren on here. I have been a member on here for a long time and I drive a Land Cruiser. It will go every where a LR will and more. I have also helped out a lot when people have asked about lanes in mid/north Wales.

If I was heading out that way Warren you would be happy to join us.

Hi Warren,

Myself i don't mind if you fancy tagging along its all gonna be a bit last minute and very un planned the people going are coming at their own risk no planning no person in charge just a few motors 4'possibly 5. if you decide to meet up and tag along all we ask is that you have rated recovery points and ideally a rated rope note not a strop however we will have plenty of ropes to go around.

Camping there is a camp site near Corwen which sounds promising.


You guys obviously don't know Booger very well! lol! i can't speak for him he is a grown up!

Paul we're not hooligans just **** take alot and we all get on well as a small group! We're all used to each others **** taking and humour!

After 200+ posts, surely you have realised landyzone is as much about **** taking and jokes as it is about offering advice and helping out? Maybe you just havent got that yet, after all you do own a Land Cruiser :welcome2:

And for all the morons that don't get, I won't mention any names, but I mean Paul and that other guy, I wasn't saying we shouldn't help Warren,
just that this weekend is not the right time.

Doing your very first laning trip, with your wife, following a bunch of highly experienced drivers with very capable vehicle, on a boys weekend in very techincal and (almost certainly damaging to paintwork at the very least) lanes, is just stupid, end of... especially in a land cruiser :mooning:


I know this cause all the fooking paint from my landrover is sitting in a lane that Beaker and Jai took me through on this last trip

Well, It wasn't that tight at the end we started, just got to the point of no return a bit too quickly. :doh:

A thick skin and giving as good as you get helps with us lot, If you cock up or get stuck we will take the **** for ages, until the next unfortunate soul get stuck for 60 odd hours ( you know who you are)

Don't worry, all that paint was just slowing me down

Now most of the lancruiser owners I have met like their paint

Didn't need to shed weight on that one, or we'd have lost Jai before we hit the first lane!

Twas a good weekend nobody got stuck not even a rope was asked for! We all had a laugh legal lanes twas good! I did like Beaker stopping ath the lane entrance saying waddya think? I nodded and Booger was like I'm game! so We probably drove that lane for the first time in 5 years clearing the odd tree that had fallen in our way and its now wide enough for people to actually use again. Not just another lost lane that my WASTED GLASS Membership paid for somone to kindly tick the TRO box, with a note saying do not drive.

P.S I have swapped my transfer box over andI can get above 40MPH!

Don't know when I'm gonna get chance to get this drag link swapped out I have a spare drag tube but feeli like crap. Think If I do it I may aswell sleeve it aswell so it don't er damage it again at the next comp.
