Been playing with the old d2 for a while now..

Adding to the list of Jobs was the Fuel filter, it's been festering on my shelf for a good while..

I decided now was a good time to replace it...

So...

Wheel off..

The garage i bought her off "serviced it" however he didn't say the filters were wound on with windy guns!! ;)

I tried using a strap wrench, to no avail!

Next up was the pliers!

I'm not a weak chap, however this was putting up a fight! :confused:

I did get it off, after new BOSCH one fitted! :D

Completely mangalized my pliers!!

Oh and...

These wheel nuts..

Were removed with a stilson wrench :cool:

And back together!

Still runs like carp..

When i had the cam cover off i could hear the air escaping from the injectors, so new seals needed..

It burns oil at a rate of knots _ only under boost so TURBO oh and the flexplate has gone up the chimney!

Ah!! :confused::D

On the plus side, time is the one thing the planet getting sick has afforded those of us with tall lists of outstanding repairs on our land rovers

Interior stripped.

Quite a drastic measure however the water ingress got so bad that the carpets were sodden, and to be frank I didn't fancy a D2 full of holes it was starting to pong too so All the carpets are out and have been pressure washed off and are sitting in the shed..

yuck..

New flexplate is winging its way along with a few other things, even had to order some new tools some nice long reach 9/16 spanners for the propshaft bolts.

Injector O rings need doing.

Chassis needs more attention, a nice hole has appeared near the rear shock mount,

Not a bad list for a 200k Discovery..

Oh and there is a nice rot hole under the servo and one in the footwell, both sides...

I'll just pretend I didn't see those.. :cool::D
