Bit of background to my purchase.

Originally I was looking for a clean early D1 but all examples were full of tin worn and not really apprealing.

I wanted an Auto that was a make or break imho so pretty much all D1's bar a few were discounted.

After initially giving up and looking for something differen't a nice looking Silver/gold D2 showed up on the Autotrader with 181k and an Auto box..

Yes I must of been mad but the test drive and initial inspection showed a sound vehicle unto which i can build!!

A rather large cash deposite and a Part ex sold me the vehicle, Unfortunately i had to wait for a week, as most of you know!!

Anyway she's back with me now.

The project will commence!

Maybe even a Re-chassis in the future ;)

More to come tomorra.

Chassis clean up will start! ;)

Once my Kurust arrives ;)

Thanks ;)

My toolbox already looks inadequate ;)

Will be buying some posh tools ;)

Just a few bits I’ve got over the last 3 x years , lol , (couldn't have done it without my parents that’s for sure , where they’ve treated me to a lot of the tools )

Plus another reason I’m going to turn my spare bedroom into a workshop so can then put them all on shelves and build some basic plywood benches

Imagine you’ve already got an extensive tool kit

Very nice Gary.

My 'box is scattered to the wind lol.

Have no idea where most of the stuff is, I usually say its in that "pile" over there ;) lol

I'll be getting some better quality screwdrivers for sure and those US PRO long wrenches.

Just bought myself some cosmetic stuff,

Claybar
Super resin polish

and some rainex ;)

Mine has TCS and no difflock, not got stuck anywhere and it seems to work well. Not sure if it’s any different on the facelift but as long as you don’t overwhelm it and give it time to work out what’s going on you should be fine without the CDL.

I know this isn't the bag of most Disco drivers but.. ;)

Gave her a good clen inside and out..

Paintwork cleaned with Autoglym Shampoo
Polished with Autoglym SRP
Waxed with Sonax silver with Nano tech
Plastics dressed with Autoglym Vinyl and Rubber care,

I will be claying and repolishing her tomorra hopefully. ;)

so will look smarter ;)

Now.

Also had a look at the Gearbox oil and was pleased to see it was rather clean..
which is a rarity with most Disco's ;)

No wonder it shifted so well ;)
