my 2004 range rover lh headlight out xzenonbulb ok checked fuses cant find loose connection am told it could be light module anyone had similar problem

not quite used to this sit yet and procedure /am i asking question in right way
No probs with the question, just polite to say 'Hi my name is, I drive blah, got a problem and you guys are geniuses, (insert arse kissing comments here), wondering if you could help' :D

On mine, I have had the Xenon fail to strike twice in 6 months, both times I turn it off, wait a few seconds then re-try...

Does yours fail to strike each time or intermitently??

Others have reported needing to leave the side lights on for a few seconds before turing the Xenons on - not sure why but it has reportedly done the trick...maybe it gives the Ballast enough time to warm up or charge up before you turn the light swtich all the way on.

So it fails to strike each time??

Fuse 32 should be fine as this is for both R/H and L/H Xenons....

Only thing it can be is the connection to the Ballast or the ballast itself not striking the Lamp.

Remove the Right Hand Ballast and plug into the Left Hand Lamp and plug the Left Hand Ballast into the Right Hand Lamp and see if the fault follows....

If it does, it is the Ballast, if it stays on the Left, it is the wiring or connection to the ballast or from the ballast to the Lamp.

thanks for your time i will try when i get home on the bus has to happen in winter will let you know what happens regards barry williamson

Mine did the same a while ago wouldn't light at all no matter what I tried ,I removed the headlight and took off the module on the back and cleaned the connections put it all back together and it's alot better but still does it the odd now and again, you can check if its the module by swapping it with the other side and seeing what happens if it still won't light its the striker unit inside the headlight which is a bit more difficult to change ,module or striker are both about £100 each off ebay . strange how its always the lefthand one.

fao st v8 thanks for advice swapped module over and problem transfered to rh have ordered part and fingers crossed it will sort problem
