Help

Hi just bought a freelander 1.8 xei. loss of power and have been told loss of compression.Also my temperature gauge works only when car stood still as soon as i set off drops to the bottom anybody know what I need to do plus costs.

Most replies you get will be insulting, unfortunately I have to agree. Do a search for 1.8 K series engine faults and all will be revealed.

I have water in my oil is that hgf???? Not over heating,oil in coolant. head gasket done last august. Please be kind:doh:

It doesn't sound good if you have a petrol K series & have water in your oil. Has all the oil been drained & refilled since the new Head Gasket or was it just topped up? Gasket could have gone again. The petrol engines are unfortunately famous for this kind of failure, with most people on here opting for the TD4 BMW Engine.
