hiya found this

The Road Vehicles Lighting Regulations 1989

talk about heavy reading

by what im reading there as i agree a lot of people who abuse the use of orange lights

but it says if a vehicle is towing, recovering and is traveling under 25 mph to rescue a stuck or broken down vehicle then its ok to use them

happy reading ,

not strictly true.
I gather the army, on Salisbury Plain have said they appreciate one vehicle in a laning group to show amber flashing lights so they can be seen.
never seen anyone do it tho .

this was an extration of who can and cannot use amber lights and of course i know the list is endless

ive been trying to get my head round all the different regs and i imagine they go on and on

this was showing that groups that rescue people from snow etc are legally allowed to use orange beacons,

i imagine the army are exempt from alot of laws etc,

the list must be endless of who can and cannot use orange beacons, also they are sold every where so cant have a very strict law on them

including the thousands of recovery groups helping stuck vehicles all use them as a warning etc,

ive found that i can indeed like some of u say mount the fog lights on the bumper as they are within the 1200mm height

now am i right in saying the spots have to be a max of 55 watts

has anyone used the visor amber lights at all please as they seem ideal

also found some rear amber lights that can go on the rear that stick on the glass via suction cups and can then be controlled by one flashing mode box

just didnt know if anyone else has used these amber lights

thks as always and huge thks about the spot and fog light wiring and at least i now know i can put them all together on the same bumper ,

now just got to sort out an extra 12 v cig lighter for the very back to save me having leads showing, as i can hide all the front amber light wire in the pillar etc

thks guys
