Hi all, My 90 with its 3.5V8 and LT85 box runs like a dream only having done 70 000kms or 44 000 miles, The only thing that concerns me is the growl when I let the clutch out when in reverse gear. Is that normal or should I be worried ? There is also a little take-up noise when changing up or down at speed on the open road. is this normal ? other than that she's a honey.

only symptoms ? lt85s are prone for bearing wear ,reverse gear is selected by sliding an ider gear into mesh any clutch grabbing will cause grating when selecting ,clunking or such can be wear in drive members ,diffs ,props .t/box and mainshaft on gear box and t/box input gear splines (although less of an issue as lt77 and r380s),you can check that by removing pto cover and input gear ,you can also check intermediate gear for free play and remove it carefully with nut on rear of box
