Fookin ell you must be doing something wrong. I paid 88 quid fully comp for my disco last year with swinton. I'm now driving a s3 109 which I've insured with sureterm for 84 quid fully comp. I'm 45 with a clean licence and full no claims. Have you got a dodgy postcode or something?
My area is not a bad area for car crimes ect, however im begining to think i should get out more, im oviously missing the news around the area.

Or it might be the unemployed thing? Try doing the search thingy putting yourself down as employed.

And that would invalidate the insurance if a claim was made if the OP is registered as out of work ... best be honest with them as the slightest discrepancy will void the insurance.

Once over age and lots of years NCD made a differrance with insurance now i dont think it makes that much difference
Seems to work for me, I just paid £193 fully comp with business use, 10k yearly with one other named driver ( wife) with Direct Line. I think thats with £150 excess.
I tried compare the meerkat, good prices but excess was between £350 and £700 on all of the quotes.
Mind you, I have 10 years on you, never claimed either, so lots of NCD.

Have you checked out the insurance ads in LRO mag?

Allan

Have you tried Confused.com ive been using them for years for various cars.
I'm 41 and i have the 300 Tdi disco insured on a classic policy with Lancaster and its with an additional driver with 0 no claims its under £200. Granted my mileage is limited to around 3000 a year but i thought it was a good deal.
All the other quotes i got with 10 years NCD were around £150-250 full comp

Upadte.
The cheapest insurance i could get was with Churchill
So i took the policy out with them after many hours of searching i gave up in the end
Fully comp with my NC protected.

£387.44

I still can't understand why i have to pay so much, maybe it is because i am currently unemployed who knows for sure.

Thanks everyone for your advice and help its really appreciated:5bcheers2:

You guys are all lucky, I bought and got insured on mine when I was 18, 19 now. Flux and almost every other insurance quoted me £4400+, elephant got me in for £2200(including £150 cos i didnt have the LPG certificate). I know it sounds a lot for you lot getting £300-£500 premiums. But its just the norm for teenage drivers.

but i dont think twice about the fact of the insurance price as its such a joy to drive, unlike any other car i have driven since i passed my test, I actually want to drive this car.
