 Hi, My dad loves his Range but knows nothing about whats under the bonnet....I dont even drive so I know even less so please bear with me while I try and explaine... Well when my dad brought the range it had problems with the computer..(is that the BECMs) ? The only time hes had problems is for whatever reason is when its been cleaned..I have been reading other problems re-transmission, and I think the last time the govenor was sticking and my dad managed to free it...(whatever the govenor is ) But this time it starts but when you move the stick into drive no gears are selected, but when put back into P it makes a crunching noise. The dash says transmission neutrel...:eek: I hope you understand all that...:)

have a look at the panel beneath the drivers seat, if there is a fuse in the upper right fuse space(position 11 on the back of the panel), take it out and place in in one of the spare slots that are horizontal as opposed to the vertical(majority) fuses. now try again to move the car! this fuse is for towing the vehicle on its wheels i.e when it breaks down and you need to tow it to a safe place. when this fuse is in it puts the transfer box in neutral so it doesnt damage the gearbox etc when bieng towed. it may not be the problem but its worth a try as (old) people like to fiddle and put fuses in if they find a gap)
