help wanted thread deleted??WHY??

Hi There,

So, I post a thread asking for help in finding someone who can help find me a nice tubular bumper in the defender forum, but now I see it is deleted, WHY??

I was asking for help, is this not what the forums are there for? but it appears that for some reason my post got deleted, this is bizarre.

Frankly I am confused how this works.

There is a for sale/wanted section where ads are placed for items wanted or for sale.

Yes I know that having looked around the forum, but I cannot place a wanted ad, and I was actually asking for help to try and find some info.

all i got was a sarcastic remark and then my post deleted, how is that helpful.

It's not unusual for spammers to use the 'anyone tried these people' or 'anyone tried this product' type approach.

People come onto the forum just to peddle their overpriced tat and then feck off again never to be seen again.

To prevent the above type scenarios the 50 post rule has been brought into effect. Due to the actions of others in the past, those in the present have to suffer.

That I can understand completely , the only person I mentioned was what I had read in previous osts , about a person from coventry supplying bumpers, If this was spam, why were the original posts not deleted for me to find,

I am only asking for help.

Seems strange to me, I can take the argy bargy and mud throwing , that seems to be aprt of this forum, and some of it is quite amusing.

Once you have hit the 50 constructive post barrier and passed the initiation ceremony you will be accepted to a point.

I had a similar argument with a long standing member on here a couple of nights ago. Apparently I'm a Nazi because I deleted his for sale thread that was in anything goes.

When you're at home, do you take a dump in your kitchen or do you go to the bathroom to do that?

I understand the limit on 50 posts to sell things, makes complete sense to me,

But imagine, you are a new landie owner, and you are looking for advise on what to buy, or even looking for something , well you cannot post a wanted ad, because you do not have 50 posts, what are you meant to do, make banal statements on other posts very quickly to get to your magic 50?

there is a difference between selling, wanted and looking for info/ advice.

seems there are many people here who think they are genuine members , when once we have joined we are all members, do you people want to make new people welcome or not. itis your choice.
