Help needed

Hi all. This is a first time post. Was changing oil yesterday and on removing the sump.guard i oticed serval things. A piece of metal pipe with hose attachments had come off from somewhere. Three or 4 clips around the sump that appears not to hold anything on, but at one time did and on my auto box there appears to.be two holes? Can anyone help with what these are or for? Need I panic?

The three or four clips are for a cover that goes over the sump.

Great thanks. That cover has never been on my sump.since I have had the car.....
