hi to all just wondering if you can help? started the disco up yesturday and had no power to my radio, horn and no lights! ive checked the fuses and cleaned the earths behind the battery as they were the only ones i found. please help if u can as i cant drive when its getting dark!:confused:

really?? i would never of thought it would be that? everything else works - the interia light? this is all since washing under the bonnet but was fine after washing it on sunday just didnt use it till tuesday. but if u think its that il strip it out and check it when i get chance as its visit the family time of year lol

Ya lights only work when the key moves the contact in the switch at the back of the ignition. If it breaks or fails to make contact no lights or ignition lives in cabin.

well **** me down u do know ur ****!!! big big thanks i will get on it first thing 2moz after going to pick up from where i had to leave it due to the dark catching me out b4 i got home lol.

left my lights on last night by misstake as i was checking things and they came on by them selfs and drained my battery???? really doing my head in now. ive not checked the ign switch but if im not wrong you can turn the light on or off without turning the ign on?? so could it still be the switch??

On all the early discos I've had the lights can be on without the ignition on. Have you checked the conectors at the bulbs themselves they get too hot and melt and can give intermittent problems with the lights. Another common prob is the little black wires on the body of the switch stalk coming off.

Your not wrong the lights can be switched on without the ignition switch being turned on. The only main problems that can arise with the headlamps is either an iffy earth, break/short in the wiring or the switch being faulty.

Happy Christmas
