I'm on my way to Sheffield, stopped for some diesel and went to switch on and have the M and S lights flashing on dash. Switched on and off and still doing it. Looked in manual and says auto gearbox fault - seek assistance.

Am I buggered?? :(

Sat there for 10 minutes and the lights went out. We are moving again now.
Worried hope to get there!

Typed by son as mum is driving.

could be low on oil, take it steady and keep an eye on your gauges. If you think gears sound or feel different pull over some where safe.If its a TD5 if anything goes too wrong it will go into limp mode. hope you get there safe.

Take it steady ...

as has been said keep eye on gauges - when you stop for a break and come back to the vehicle have a quick look underneath - best to see puddles there than on the M-way :(

Stay safe peeps ...

We've got here. Thanks guys, much appreciated!! Drove slow and smooth, no warning lights. Parked at Sheffield city park n ride, thank goodness we got here, my sons face hit the floor when he thought we'd have to cancel his university interview.

So, now to wonder all day if it were a one off, a prob that needs sorting and if we can get home.

Cheers again, I felt so much better being able to come on here for advice rather than just panic by what the manual said!

Now going to do a search on here whilst we on the tram ;)

I'm not a million miles from Sheffield, if you have any more issues let me know. Or on your drive home, can do from Sheffield down to Birmingham area cover.

Thank you.

Got back to park and ride, switched everything off and waited before starting - no probs, now on way home, fingers crossed!!

Getting the battery checked tomoro for a start.

We are home! Thanks everyone for your support, what a fantastic place LZ is :D

Made sure we toileted before we left cos I didn't stop the whole way back just in case. Now eyes are as dry as an Arabs sandle and large glass of wine is about to be consumed!
