Help Please with part identification

Engine management light came on this evening, when I got home I have noticed
that the black pipe with silver tape on it had come apart!

This never had a break in it before it went to the garage for servicing and mot!

I will take this up with the garage.

Can you please identify what the part is please, and would this make the engine management light stay on!

A wider angle photo would be better this one is a bit too close up.

Anyways, it doesn't look like a pipe - that looks more like cable trunking so probably not an issue. As for engine management light well that could be down to any one one of a number of the many sensors on your engine, I'm afraid all I would suggest there is go and get it plugged in.

What was it?

turns out it was a breather pipe!! lol

Ahh I see what you were saying now. I suspect that breather could have upset your engine management hence warning light. Glad you sorted it.
